Jessica Alba: “People just saw me as this girl in a bikini in movies kicking butt—maybe not the brightest bulb,” the Sin City star recently confessed at Forbes’ third annual Women’s Summit after the success of her $1 billion nontoxic household product brand, The Honest Company, landed her the coveted cover of the magazine’s America’s Richest Self-Made Women issue. The mother of two started the venture with a desire to create the safest, healthiest environment for her family and her struggle to find trustworthy information on how to live a healthier and cleaner lifestyle.

Leonardo DiCaprio
Leonardo DiCaprio: DiCaprio may be one of the highest paid actors in the world, but the Titanic heartthrob is also one of the most philanthropic and environmentally minded. Leo founded the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation in 1998 to fund grants and public campaigns dedicated to the conservation of ecosystems and endangered species as well as raising awareness of climate change. “Tonight’s event is about supporting LDF’s efforts to protect key species like the tiger, rhino, shark and mountain gorilla by working with governments to conserve the jungles, coral reefs and forests they call home,” DiCaprio announced to bidders in July 2015 at the second annual Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation gala in Saint-Tropez, France, which raised a whopping $40 million. The organization is currently supporting more than 70 projects in 40 countries.

Will.i.am
Will.i.am: Why not make recycling fun and fashionable? The Black Eyed Peas rapper joined forces with Coca-Cola for his brand Ekocycle, which collaborates with companies like MCM, New Era, Beats by Dre and Adidas to produce sustainable, luxurious and stylish goods. “I’m on a mission to educate and inspire consumers around the globe to seek out more sustainable lifestyle choices that will ultimately play a part in the movement toward a world with zero waste,” he explained in a press release in 2014.

Daryl Hannah
Daryl Hannah: One of the most private stars in Hollywood, the Splash actress is also one of the most active when it comes to environmental issues. Hannah, whose home runs on solar power and car uses biodiesel, was arrested a whopping five times from 2006 to 2013 during protests related to issues like farming, the Keystone oil pipeline and mountaintop removal. A member of the World Future Council, she maintains a blog about her environmental missions called DH Love Life.

Robert Redford
Robert Redford: The legendary actor committed to improving the environment back in the 1970s and has campaigned for issues like the Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act, global warming, protecting the Utah wilderness and switching over to renewable and green energy. One of his biggest passions, however, is the cleanup of oil spills, as his father was a Standard Oil employee.
