Beer lovers, get ready to raise a glass to this news. Your favorite libation may have health benefits for your skin according to Carlsberg brewmasters, who just launched a shampoo, conditioner and body lotion containing beer. According to the company, beer offers fiber, proteins and yeast—a good source of B vitamins, which can help with dry skin and acne. “The beer is freeze-dried into a powder, and then mixed with organic ingredients in order to create a unique series of products,” Carlsberg brewmaster Erik Lund said in a statement.

But at least one dermatologist is skeptical, claiming you’re better off getting B vitamins from your diet rather than from beauty products (The expert fails to note whether drinking beer counts toward that Vitamin B dose).

If it sounds worth trying to you, go on and give it a whirl. After all, maybe beer is that secret ingredient your skin has been searching for this whole time. Do you buy into this boozy beauty treatment or do you think it’s just a gimmick?
