The worst part of eczema is the itchiness, which can get so bad it keeps kids awake all night. Scratching, meanwhile, can lead to broken skin--and infections. Doctors say that despite fears of topical steroids, which can stop itching but may have side effects, parents shouldn't hesitate to treat kids who are uncomfortable.
