We've become accustomed to the use of fillers such as Restylane and Sculptra to increase volume in the face, but the newest injectable isn't designed to add volume—it aims to take it away. It's called Kybella and it has just been approved by the FDA to treat double chins and destroys its fat cells. For those unsatisfied with the look of their upper neck areas, Kybella will provide a less invasive alternative to liposuction procedures. According to doctors involved in clinical trials, however, it won't replace the neck lift, since it can't get rid of extra skin. The best candidates for this new drug are relatively young, with high skin elasticity. To paraphrase the great Nora Ephron, do you feel bad about your neck? Would you try Kybella? Let us know in the comments.
