New mom Kelly Rowland claims she lost a whopping 70 pounds in 4 months after giving birth to her first child. The Destiny’s Child star revealed to Extra that her massive slim-down was the product of rigorous Soul Cycle workouts and celebrity trainer Jeanette Jenkins.
“Jeanette Jenkins is the secret, SoulCycle is the secret," she told Extra. "When I go in there and it’s the wee hours of the morning, she is a great secret -- so motivational. Jeanette comes in with so much energy and this huge smile on her face, and you can’t help but to get excited about working out. Rowland also credits a shift to “healthy eating,” where she lives by the 80/20 rule (80 percent clean eating and 20 percent guacamole, margaritas, queso or whatever food she would like to endulge).
To all the non-famous moms out there: do not compare yourself to celebrities and their freakily quick post-pregnancy weight loss transformations. "For most people, the weight doesn't just melt off," Madelyn Fernstrom, director of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center's weight management program, told BabyCenter. "Even the celebrities who lose the weight within three months have to work out regularly – usually for extended amounts of time measured in hours, not minutes, which means getting outside help with the baby – and diet to do it.
