So, for pistachio lovers, this is going to be some very welcoming news: New research points to pistachios as the smart snack for weight loss as they may contain 5% less calories than calculated while still retaining the same amount of protein and fiber. Better yet, another study found that pistachios increase the amount of beneficial bacteria in the colon, which can give your gut a healthy boost. Researchers suggest that the magic number is about 75 pistachios (which clocks in at 240 calories) for a daily snack.
