Aaron Baggish, MD, reminds us what is considered normal when it comes to breaking a sweat, and that overexercising is in fact, dangerous. Conditions such as chest pain, shortness of breath and lightheadedness are red flags that you may be overdoing it (healthy people should aim for 150 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise per week). Several studies in recent years have linked excessive exercise to everything from increase in physical injury and weakened immunity to heart disease, so this is a great reminder to take it easy with those Soul Cycle classes!
