Rather than assume that kids will always order chicken nuggets and fries, we’re pleased to find out that kids are willing and able to choose healthy options—when given the option. A new study found that when a restaurant offered healthier food choices on its kid's menus—such as mixed vegetables and side salads—while eliminating any mention of unhealthy foods—such as French Fries and soda—almost 50 percent of the orders from the children’s menu were for healthier meals compared to 3 percent before. The study also points out that the Silver Diner, the family restaurant chain in the eastern U.S. that changed their menu for the study, continues to see revenue growth despite the healthy menu makeovers. What other restaurants have you found that offer a wide range of healthy choices for the whole family? Share your suggestions below.
